ITINERARY

September 27, Tuesday

Step aboard our deluxe motor coach and visit with friends old and new as we make our way to “Brew City” - Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Mid-afternoon we’ll check into the Marriott SpringHill Suites located in downtown Milwaukee.  This modern, all-suite hotel is in a converted 1928 office building and just two blocks away from the River Walk.  Take time to refresh and relax before we depart for the American Family Field to watch the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Milwaukee Brewers!

September 28, Wednesday  (B)

After breakfast, we depart our hotel for a guided tour of the Basilica of Saint Josaphat.  Modeled after St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, this 1901 Milwaukee landmark features one of the world’s largest copper domes.  After our tour we will then visit Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward, the city’s arts and fashion district.  Take time for lunch on your own and to explore the area’s dynamic array of galleries and unique boutiques – all in a turn-of-the-century warehouse setting.  The neighborhood is also home to the award-winning Third Ward Riverwalk and the Milwaukee Public Market Next we will tour the Pabst Mansion, now an historic museum which once boasted 37 rooms, 14 fireplaces and 12 bathrooms for the family of Captain Frederick Pabst.  This Milwaukee architectural landmark, built in 1892, is a testament to America’s Gilded Age.  We will return to the hotel to freshen up before we depart for the American Family Field to watch another match-up between the

St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers.  Don’t forget to wear your Cardinal red!

September 29, Thursday  (B, L)

We’ll start our morning with a visit to the Milwaukee Art Museum which houses a rich collection of over 30,000 works of art.  Witness the iconic Burke Brise Soleil, a moveable sunscreen with a 217-foot wingspan, as it opens for the day (weather permitting).  We’ll have time to explore the museum’s 40 galleries across four floors that feature 15th– to 20th-century European and American art, contemporary art, American decorative arts, and one of the largest collections of works by Wisconsin native Georgia O’Keeffe.  We’re in for a treat as we dine at world famous Mader’s German Restaurant, a Milwaukee institution for over 106 years!  After lunch, we’ll take a self-guided tour of the Harley-Davidson Museum.  History roars to life at this museum which showcases the best of American design and culture. We will see for ourselves why the Harley-Davidson Museum is one of Milwaukee’s top destinations.  Following our visit we will depart for home filled with great memories of our trip to Milwaukee.
