DAY 1 - DINNER
Our drive through Big Sky Country, along the Gallatin River, is gorgeous! We’ll check into the Best Western Desert Inn in West Yellowstone for two nights and then enjoy dinner together this evening.
DAY 2 - BREAKFAST, BOXED LUNCH
Today we board our specially outfitted snow coaches to journey into Yellowstone National Park for a day full of adventure! We will travel in comfortable vehicles through one of the world's most delicate ecosystems. Our vehicles are chauffeured by experienced, knowledgeable guides who will share with us the magic of wintertime in Yellowstone. During our visit to the world’s most concentrated geothermal area, we will make several stops at wonderments such as Fountain Paint Pots, Black Sand Basin and Biscuit Basin. Be sure to bring your cameras, as wildlife usually abounds along the rivers and in the thermal feeding areas. No visit to Yellowstone would be complete without a stop at Old Faithful. Here you will have plenty of time for lunch, exploring the boardwalks of the thermal basin and to see the faithful eruption. The Visitor Center offers informative exhibits and a great bookstore. Keep your eyes peeled for bison, elk, bald eagles and wolves as we make our way back out of the park.
DAY 3 - BREAKFAST, DINNER
This morning we will visit the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center. All of the animals at the Center are unable to survive in the wild and serve as ambassadors for their wild counterparts. Watch the gigantic grizzlies interact in their outdoor habitats and get a rare, first-hand glimpse at wolf pack behavior. The Center also features a new river otter exhibit, interactive museum exhibits and a great gift shop. At the Yellowstone IMAX Theatre we take our seats to view National Geographic’s Yellowstone. Shown on a 6-story high screen with stereo surround- sound, this film interprets the history, wildlife, geothermal activity and grandeur of our first national park. Then, enjoy the scenery as we make our way to Jackson Hole, Wyoming where we will check into the Hampton Inn by Hilton for two nights. This evening we will be treated to a wonderful dinner in the rustic Wyoming atmosphere of The Gun Barrel Steak & Game House.
DAY 4 - BREAKFAST, DINNER
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll make a quick jaunt to Grand Teton National Park to see the majestic, jagged, snow-covered peaks. Next, we will visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art where we will view an extensive wildlife art collection. Then button up your overcoat as we take a sleigh-wagon ride through the National Elk Refuge. Home to over 9,000 migratory elk, the refuge was created in 1912 to protect habitat and provide sanctuary for one of the largest elk herds on earth. Our sleigh-wagons will bring us up close for viewing these beautiful animals. Then we're on our way back into Jackson with plenty of time this afternoon for you to have lunch and shop in all the great stores. There will also be an optional snowmobile tour offered this afternoon. This evening we’ll gather again to enjoy dinner together in Jackson.
DAY 5 - BREAKFAST, DINNER
This morning we begin our drive to Salt Lake City, Utah. You will be amazed at the beauty of our drive through western Wyoming and eastern Idaho. After a lunch stop along the way, we arrive in Salt Lake City and check into our elegantly appointed rooms for one night at the Little America Hotel. Take time to relax before we leave for our final night dinner.
DAY 6 - BREAKFAST
This morning we will attend the Sunday morning broadcast of the world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir.* Following the broadcast we will take a guided tour of Salt Lake City before we make our way to the Salt Lake City airport for our return trip home.
*In the rare event that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is performing out of town, we will enjoy the broadcast from inside the Tabernacle, via satellite.
